I didn’t know how to feel when I started reading this book. As the underlying alcoholism is felt throughout, I’m glad it wasn’t the main concern for Leo and Lulu anymore. That they were able to not let the effects of it run their lives and they found each other again. I don’t know how Lauren Blakely does it, but keep it up girl! You have nothing but gold in your words!!😘

Birthday Suit is a story of life, love and regret. It’s the story of learning to let go of the past for a present with endless possibilities. One of those possibilities being LOVE. Leo and Lulu have been friends for years. In fact, Lulu married Leo’s best friend...and Leo learned to bury his feelings for her the entire time. Now Lulu is partnering with the company Leo works for which brings them back together and brings Leo’s feelings back right along with it. I truly enjoyed Leo and Lulu’s story. While it had the usual Lauren Blakely flare to it, this story was a tad bit more emotional and was not at all what I expected. It was great to read about more mature characters, who know what they want in life and have really lived through some ups and downs. I highly recommend Birthday Suit...just make sure you have plenty of chocolate when you read it :)

Lauren has once again knocked another romantic comedy out of the park while still addressing a very tough subject alcoholism. Tripp, Leo and Lulu were the three musketeers growing up. Leo is a handsome sexy successful business man who reunited with Lulu his best friend Tripp’s ex wife at a chocolate exhibition. Lulu is beautiful chocolatier fun sexy and colorful. I was hooked at page one. You’ll cheer as these characters as they navigate the world of chocolate and relationships while resolving past issues a great read that you won’t forget.

Lulu, Leo and Tripp had a great friendship, they used the analogy that they were like a 3-legged stool. Leo fell in love with Lulu the moment he met her, but didn't make a move on her because his friend Tripp made the move first. Leo was even the best man at their wedding and he couldn't help but think that should be him standing up there waiting to marry Lulu. Fast forward, Lulu divorces Tripp, and addiction gets the best of him and he passes away. Lulu and Leo are reunited and end up working together. His brother Dean knows the back history and tells him "Tell me again, the part where you had the brilliant idea to partner with the woman you've been in love with for a decade." Dean is the only one Leo has admitted his feelings about Lulu too. The connection and chemistry between them heats up and Leo finally admits his feelings, however he's still having problems getting past the fact that she was his best friends girl first. Eventually after some soul searching they end up with their HEA.

I loved this book and was hooked from page one. It’s a fun and sweet romance. How long had Leo loved Lulu? Will he ever let her know? I really loved his birthday scene, and how hot they were together. What happens when she makes an ultimatum? No worries, we get a very happy ever after. I highly recommend this book.

I loved Leo and Lulu’s story. It really had a lot of different emotional elements in it. I really liked how the past was revealed slowly through conversations and thoughts until we knew what happened with Tripp. Another winner for Lauren Blakely.

I love this birthday suit!

I love her rom-coms; I laughed out loud almost immediately! Leo & Lulu are a second chance romance but not quite, with a little friends-to-lovers thrown in. In college, he fell in love with her while she was falling in love with his best friend, but she never knew that part. They were always just friends. That’s in the past when they meet again at the beginning of the book, & we do find out why the best friend is not in the picture now which is a more serious subject matter. I love that Leo & Lulu were a slow burn; they got to know who each other are now, not who they were in the past. But when they do get together it is fireworks! Leo is smart, funny and swoony. Lulu is smart, funny & unique. I loved both these characters & was rooting for their happy ending. When they did get that happy ending, I smiled & teared up! If you love a quick, fun, swoony, angst-free read like I do, then read this book!

Deliciously sexy

This is such a deliciously fun RomCom!! (sorry blame all the chocolate) I was so completely entranced by Leo and Lulu throughout this book. Their interactions that include fun banter and riddles were adorable and made this such an entertaining story to read. Although they've known each other for many years, they were only ever friends because she was with their other friend Tripp. However, Leo has been in love with her forever. They have a wonderful ease about them and serious chemistry but will Lulu ever see him the way he sees her? Will he ever let her know how he feels? I was team Leo from moment one! He is smart, sexy, funny and extremely swoon-worthy. Lulu is also smart and sexy and has always enjoyed being around Leo, but has never really done it alone until now and never thought of him as more than a friend. Until now. That ending is amazing!!!This is a fun one for sure! I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Oh my heart! Leo! I just love him. He’s sweet, he’s sexy and so swoonworhty!!! I love how when I dive into one of Lauren’s books, I get all the feels!! This story is kind of like an old flame reignited, but still a new love story. It was unrequited love, turned into epic love. It was years of wanting and wishing, turned into reality and passion and made into something brand new. I loved getting to know these characters. Their heart, their passion, their past. The struggles they went through, how they rose above the ashes to build something they wanted. These characters have depth and multi layers. I loved seeing all the layers peeled back one by one as their story unfolded. The heartache they endured, the trials they had to overcome, but it made them strong and made them persevere and shape into the people they became. And what’s better? Lulu is a Chocolatier! What’s goes best with romance?? Chocolate!! Some of her concoctions sounds super delicious, makes me wish I could reach into my kindle and grab some! Lol. Want a taste? Dive in, you won’t regret it. I’m sure you’ll fall in love with Leo and Lulu just as much as I did!

Leo and Lulu captured my heart!

I absolutely loved this book and the entire cast of characters that surround Leo and Lulu and their love of chocolate that continually made my mouth water and I’m not only talking about the chocolate. Leo is all kinds of sexy with his playful personality and the gorgeous suits he wears but it was his hidden longing for Lulu that totally captured my heart. And how could I resist Lulu’s zany personality and her colorful curves not to mention her courage to heal from her past; a past that includes Leo and his best friend Tripp. Even Tripp managed to break my heart and that’s the beauty of a Blakely romance. All my senses come alive, I get lost in her characters and though hearts might get bruised there’s always a happy ending to bring me back for more. I read an early copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

Leo and Lulu have a complicated past, Lulu having married Leo’s best friend who is no longer in the picture. They reunite while working together and now is the chance for a new relationship. Lulu is dynamic, colorful and independent. Leo is a helluva nice guy. This is a delicious rom-com, with lots of yummy chocolate. Blakely’s style is quick witted repartee between her likeable and well developed characters. A thoroughly enjoyable read!

Lauren is just one of those authors for me that I know will never disappoint. Birthday Suit was an entertaining and heartfelt story. Leo and Lulu were wonderful characters. Leo thought he got rid of that unrequited love he had for Lulu. But when she reenters his life, he discovers new (and old) feelings arise. I really enjoyed this kinda second-chance romance. It was fascinating watching Leo and Lulu go through their journey. They had so much in common and I really loved their banter. I liked the glimpses of the past. It added to their story by giving a deeper level of understanding and brought their story full circle. This was a book I couldn’t put down and I was excited to see what will happen as it progressed. A story full of sweet, loving, sexy, fun, and heartfelt moments. I truly enjoyed it! I’m excited for what Lauren has coming next.

The Riddle of My Heart ♥️

I absolutely LOVED Leo and Lulu’s story! I was hooked right from the start and I didn't want to put it down. This second chance-ish friends to lovers slow burn rom com was everything I love about Lauren Blakely's books and more. It was sweet and sexy, but also poignant and heartfelt. I loved the overall message of grabbing life by the horns and not waiting on your dreams. Nothing in life is guaranteed and this theme was so beautifully woven into the story. You will be hardpressed to find a hero and heroine more wonderful than Leo and Lulu. They are smart, loyal, strong, honest, and so beautifully human. I loved them individually and together and couldn't wait to unravel all the history between them. The book is told in dual POV, but also past and present as it cycles through moments in their 10 year friendship. Leo's longing was practically tangible and my heart broke for him as he buried his own feelings and happiness for that of his best friend. When a second chance presents itself, Lulu and Leo's mutual pain and concerns haunt them like a ghost, as they try to navigate their new relationship and growing feelings. I loved how each reconciled their emotions and sense of obligation to the past. The issues they face felt heartbreakingly realistic and honest. Throw in the sweetest moments with riddles, postcards, and kisses, and I was 100% sold. *swoon* I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite Lauren Blakely title and I'm positive that fans will be swooning for Leo and Lulu just as much as I am! Don't miss this one! I'm also really excited for the audiobook release of Birthday Suit and will update my review after listening.

Birthday Suit was one of those books that pulls you in and keeps you there. This book is everything I love......ROMANCE and CHOCOLATE all rolled together into an unforgettable friends to lovers romance. Leo is all that is good in a man. He is successful, loyal, determined, sexy, passionate and loving. Lulu is the female version of Leo. These two along with Lulu’s ex-husband, Tripp, have been the best of friends for years. Tragic circumstances caused them to drift apart, but their love of chocolate literally had them falling back into friendship and so much more. Birthday Suit is a must read!! I’m so in love with this book!

This best friends-to-lovers/second chance romance will put a smile on your face and make your heart skip a beat. Infused with charming riddles throughout, Blakely takes this rom-com to the next level with characters that truly click. Leo Hennessy is all sorts of delicious perfection. Successful, handsome and driven to succeed, he has always harbored feelings for his best friend Lulu Diamond but sat on the sideline for years as his best friend married her. I loved how loyal he was to those he loved. He'd do anything for his friends, including sacrificing his own happiness. Having not seen Lulu in a while, she shows up in dramatic fashion and the two begin their slow-burn romance that builds with just the right intensity and speed. Lulu was such a fun and adorable character. Independent, strong, sweet and funny, her love for riddles was charming and I loved how that connected her to Leo. Together, these two friends have a bond that is unbreakable. As they fell for one another, I swooned something fierce! Blakely always knows the way to my heart and she hit a bullseye once again. Birthday Suit will draw you in, make your heart do a little flip and give you the perfect happily ever after ending complete with serious swoon down to the very last words of the epilogue. Forget regret or life is yours to miss"-RENT This book was my first read of 2019 and I know this is one that I will come back to over and over again. As soon as I started the prologue I knew I was in for something special (a theme emerged that lines up with a theme from my all time favorite musical) and WOW, did this book deliver. Birthday Suit is the perfect blend of sweet, spicy, fun and the romance? Well that's on a whole other level. Friends to lovers is one of my all time favorite tropes. I love it because the characters already know each other and watching them discover each other in a new light just fascinates me every time. This is definitely a friends to lovers book but with a twist and I enjoyed the hell out of navigating that twist. Lulu is the kind of woman I would just instantly hug upon meeting. She's warm and sweet and I just understood her right away. Her personality is just magnetic and she lit up the pages. I could feel her smile and genuineness. I applauded her strength and loved, loved, loved her sense of self. Leo? I'm claiming Leo. Talk about a fantastic book boyfriend! Smart, kind, sweet, funny and sexy as hell. I said I liked Lulu, right? I'd fight her for Leo. He tries to live his life without regret but is still haunted by things in the past that he can't change. He has a different journey to work through in this book and I loved how the Author handled it. The way these two cross paths is unique and fun as hell to read. I loved seeing them reconnect and wow, could these two ever flirt. They had me on the edge of my seat as I waited for that first kiss (not going to lie, I LOVE the first kiss between characters) and this one was epic and perfect. These two together had me grinning. I loved watching them develop outside the bedroom, though there time there was pretty scorching, too! I adored the secondary characters and can't wait to see more of them. I felt like I was part of this group. That being said, nobody overpowered or overshadowed Lulu and Leo. They enhanced them. The plot of this book was so unique and fresh. It had a palpable energy to it and I was just sucked in from the start. The writing here was superb. I'm not kidding when I say I felt like I was there in New York with these characters. I was fortunate enough to get to read and listen to this book early. If you think you aren't an audio fan I urge you to try this book! If you're an audio fan already? OMG strap in and get ready for the best audio book I've ever heard. The performances here were completely flawless and hearing all of these voices just breathed even more life into these already amazing characters. As a listener I even found some new voices I need to go binge listen to now. This performance was theatre to me and it just elevated the book even more. This book is about more than love. It's a story of hope, some heartache and the bonds of friendship. It's learning to live in the present happily without what-if's hanging over you. It's sweet, spicy, fun and authentic. This book is more than a 5 star book in my opinion, it's on my list of all time favorites. I absolutely highly recommend this book in print and in audio.

I loved the overall message of grabbing life by the horns and not waiting on your dreams. Nothing in life is guaranteed and this theme was so beautifully woven into the story. You will be hardpressed to find a hero and heroine more wonderful than Leo and Lulu. They are smart, loyal, strong, honest, and so beautifully human. I loved them individually and together and couldn't wait to unravel all the history between them. The book is told in dual POV, but also past and present as it cycles through moments in their 10 year friendship. Leo's longing was practically tangible and my heart broke for him as he buried his own feelings and happiness for that of his best friend. When a second chance presents itself, Lulu and Leo's mutual pain and concerns haunt them like a ghost, as they try to navigate their new relationship and growing feelings. I loved how each reconciled their emotions and sense of obligation to the past. The issues they face felt heartbreakingly realistic and honest. Throw in the sweetest moments with riddles, postcards, and kisses, and I was 100% sold. *swoon* I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite Lauren Blakely title and I'm positive that fans will be swooning for Leo and Lulu just as much as I am! Don't miss this one! I'm also really excited for the audiobook release of Birthday Suit and will update my review after listening.

Birthday Suit was one of those books that pulls you in and keeps you there. This book is everything I love......ROMANCE and CHOCOLATE all rolled together into an unforgettable friends to lovers romance. Leo is all that is good in a man. He is successful, loyal, determined, sexy, passionate and loving. Lulu is the female version of Leo. These two along with Lulu’s ex-husband, Tripp, have been the best of friends for years. Tragic circumstances caused them to drift apart, but their love of chocolate literally had them falling back into friendship and so much more. Birthday Suit is a must read!! I’m so in love with this book!

Forget regret or life is yours to miss"-RENT This book was my first read of 2019 and I know this is one that I will come back to over and over again. As soon as I started the prologue I knew I was in for something special (a theme emerged that lines up with a theme from my all time favorite musical) and WOW, did this book deliver. Birthday Suit is the perfect blend of sweet, spicy, fun and the romance? Well that's on a whole other level. Friends to lovers is one of my all time favorite tropes. I love it because the characters already know each other and watching them discover each other in a new light just fascinates me every time. This is definitely a friends to lovers book but with a twist and I enjoyed the hell out of navigating that twist. Lulu is the kind of woman I would just instantly hug upon meeting. She's warm and sweet and I just understood her right away. Her personality is just magnetic and she lit up the pages. I could feel her smile and genuineness. I applauded her strength and loved, loved, loved her sense of self. Leo? I'm claiming Leo. Talk about a fantastic book boyfriend! Smart, kind, sweet, funny and sexy as hell. I said I liked Lulu, right? I'd fight her for Leo. He tries to live his life without regret but is still haunted by things in the past that he can't change. He has a different journey to work through in this book and I loved how the Author handled it. The way these two cross paths is unique and fun as hell to read. I loved seeing them reconnect and wow, could these two ever flirt. They had me on the edge of my seat as I waited for that first kiss (not going to lie, I LOVE the first kiss between characters) and this one was epic and perfect. These two together had me grinning. I loved watching them develop outside the bedroom, though there time there was pretty scorching, too! I adored the secondary characters and can't wait to see more of them. I felt like I was part of this group. That being said, nobody overpowered or overshadowed Lulu and Leo. They enhanced them. The plot of this book was so unique and fresh. It had a palpable energy to it and I was just sucked in from the start. The writing here was superb. I'm not kidding when I say I felt like I was there in New York with these characters. I was fortunate enough to get to read and listen to this book early. If you think you aren't an audio fan I urge you to try this book! If you're an audio fan already? OMG strap in and get ready for the best audio book I've ever heard. The performances here were completely flawless and hearing all of these voices just breathed even more life into these already amazing characters. As a listener I even found some new voices I need to go binge listen to now. This performance was theatre to me and it just elevated the book even more. This book is about more than love. It's a story of hope, some heartache and the bonds of friendship. It's learning to live in the present happily without what-if's hanging over you. It's sweet, spicy, fun and authentic. This book is more than a 5 star book in my opinion, it's on my list of all time favorites. I absolutely highly recommend this book in print and in audio.

I didn’t know how to feel when I started reading this book. As the underlying alcoholism is felt throughout, I’m glad it wasn’t the main concern for Leo and Lulu anymore. Birthday Suit is a story of life, love and regret. It’s the story of learning to let go of the past for a present with endless possibilities. One of those possibilities being LOVE. Leo and Lulu have been friends for years. In fact, Lulu married Leo’s best friend...and Leo learned to bury his feelings for her the entire time. Now Lulu is partnering with the company Leo works for which brings them back together and brings Leo’s feelings back right along with it. I truly enjoyed Leo and Lulu’s story. While it had the usual Lauren Blakely flare to it, this story was a tad bit more emotional and was not at all what I expected. It was great to read about more mature characters, who know what they want in life and have really lived through some ups and downs. I highly recommend Birthday Suit...just make sure you have plenty of chocolate when you read it :)

Lauren has once again knocked another romantic comedy out of the park while still addressing a very tough subject alcoholism. Tripp, Leo and Lulu were the three musketeers growing up. Leo is a handsome sexy successful business man who reunited with Lulu his best friend Tripp’s ex wife at a chocolate exhibition. Lulu is beautiful chocolatier fun sexy and colorful. I was hooked at page one. You’ll cheer as these characters as they navigate the world of chocolate and relationships while resolving past issues a great read that you won’t forget.

Leo fell in love with Lulu the moment he met her, but didn't make a move on her because his friend Tripp made the move first. Leo was even the best man at their wedding and he couldn't help but think that should be him standing up there waiting to marry Lulu. Fast forward, Lulu divorces Tripp, and addiction gets the best of him and he passes away. Lulu and Leo are reunited and end up working together. His brother Dean knows the back history and tells him "Tell me again, the part where you had the brilliant idea to partner with the woman you've been in love with for a decade." Dean is the only one Leo has admitted his feelings about Lulu too. The connection and chemistry between them heats up and Leo finally admits his feelings, however he's still having problems getting past the fact that she was his best friends girl first. Eventually after some soul searching they end up with their HEA.

I really loved his birthday scene, and how hot they were together. What happens when she makes an ultimatum? No worries, we get a very happy ever after. I highly recommend this book.

I love this birthday suit!

I love her rom-coms; I laughed out loud almost immediately! Leo & Lulu are a second chance romance but not quite, with a little friends-to-lovers thrown in. In college, he fell in love with her while she was falling in love with his best friend, but she never knew that part. They were always just friends. That’s in the past when they meet again at the beginning of the book, & we do find out why the best friend is not in the picture now which is a more serious subject matter. I love that Leo & Lulu were a slow burn; they got to know who each other are now, not who they were in the past. But when they do get together it is fireworks! Leo is smart, funny and swoony. Lulu is smart, funny & unique. I loved both these characters & was rooting for their happy ending. When they did get that happy ending, I smiled & teared up! If you love a quick, fun, swoony, angst-free read like I do, then read this book!

This is such a deliciously fun RomCom!! (sorry blame all the chocolate) I was so completely entranced by Leo and Lulu throughout this book. Their interactions that include fun banter and riddles were adorable and made this such an entertaining story to read. Although they've known each other for many years, they were only ever friends because she was with their other friend Tripp. However, Leo has been in love with her forever. They have a wonderful ease about them and serious chemistry but will Lulu ever see him the way he sees her? Will he ever let her know how he feels? I was team Leo from moment one! He is smart, sexy, funny and extremely swoon-worthy. Lulu is also smart and sexy and has always enjoyed being around Leo, but has never really done it alone until now and never thought of him as more than a friend. Until now. That ending is amazing!!!This is a fun one for sure! I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Oh my heart! Leo! I just love him. He’s sweet, he’s sexy and so swoonworhty!!! I love how when I dive into one of Lauren’s books, I get all the feels!! This story is kind of like an old flame reignited, but still a new love story. It was unrequited love, turned into epic love. It was years of wanting and wishing, turned into reality and passion and made into something brand new. I loved getting to know these characters. Their heart, their passion, their past. The struggles they went through, how they rose above the ashes to build something they wanted. These characters have depth and multi layers. I loved seeing all the layers peeled back one by one as their story unfolded. The heartache they endured, the trials they had to overcome, but it made them strong and made them persevere and shape into the people they became. And what’s better? Lulu is a Chocolatier! What’s goes best with romance?? Chocolate!! Some of her concoctions sounds super delicious, makes me wish I could reach into my kindle and grab some! Lol. Want a taste? Dive in, you won’t regret it. I’m sure you’ll fall in love with Leo and Lulu just as much as I did!

Leo and Lulu captured my heart!

I absolutely loved this book and the entire cast of characters that surround Leo and Lulu and their love of chocolate that continually made my mouth water and I’m not only talking about the chocolate. Leo is all kinds of sexy with his playful personality and the gorgeous suits he wears but it was his hidden longing for Lulu that totally captured my heart. And how could I resist Lulu’s zany personality and her colorful curves not to mention her courage to heal from her past; a past that includes Leo and his best friend Tripp. Even Tripp managed to break my heart and that’s the beauty of a Blakely romance. All my senses come alive, I get lost in her characters and though hearts might get bruised there’s always a happy ending to bring me back for more. Lauren is just one of those authors for me that I know will never disappoint. Birthday Suit was an entertaining and heartfelt story. Leo and Lulu were wonderful characters. Leo thought he got rid of that unrequited love he had for Lulu. But when she reenters his life, he discovers new (and old) feelings arise. I really enjoyed this kinda second-chance romance. It was fascinating watching Leo and Lulu go through their journey. They had so much in common and I really loved their banter. I liked the glimpses of the past. It added to their story by giving a deeper level of understanding and brought their story full circle. This was a book I couldn’t put down and I was excited to see what will happen as it progressed. A story full of sweet, loving, sexy, fun, and heartfelt moments. I truly enjoyed it! I’m excited for what Lauren has coming next.

I really loved his birthday scene, and how hot they were together. What happens when she makes an ultimatum? No worries, we get a very happy ever after. I highly recommend this book.

I loved Leo and Lulu’s story. It really had a lot of different emotional elements in it. I really liked how the past was revealed slowly through conversations and thoughts until we knew what happened with Tripp. Another winner for Lauren Blakely.

I love this birthday suit!

I love her rom-coms; I laughed out loud almost immediately! Leo & Lulu are a second chance romance but not quite, with a little friends-to-lovers thrown in. In college, he fell in love with her while she was falling in love with his best friend, but she never knew that part. They were always just friends. That’s in the past when they meet again at the beginning of the book, & we do find out why the best friend is not in the picture now which is a more serious subject matter. I love that Leo & Lulu were a slow burn; they got to know who each other are now, not who they were in the past. But when they do get together it is fireworks! Leo is smart, funny and swoony. Lulu is smart, funny & unique. I loved both these characters & was rooting for their happy ending. When they did get that happy ending, I smiled & teared up! If you love a quick, fun, swoony, angst-free read like I do, then read this book!

Deliciously sexy

This is such a deliciously fun RomCom!! (sorry blame all the chocolate) I was so completely entranced by Leo and Lulu throughout this book. Their interactions that include fun banter and riddles were adorable and made this such an entertaining story to read. Although they've known each other for many years, they were only ever friends because she was with their other friend Tripp. However, Leo has been in love with her forever. They have a wonderful ease about them and serious chemistry but will Lulu ever see him the way he sees her? Will he ever let her know how he feels? I was team Leo from moment one! He is smart, sexy, funny and extremely swoon-worthy. Lulu is also smart and sexy and has always enjoyed being around Leo, but has never really done it alone until now and never thought of him as more than a friend. Until now. That ending is amazing!!!This is a fun one for sure! I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Romance and Chocolate, would could be better?

Oh my heart! Leo! I just love him. He’s sweet, he’s sexy and so swoonworhty!!! I love how when I dive into one of Lauren’s books, I get all the feels!! This story is kind of like an old flame reignited, but still a new love story. It was unrequited love, turned into epic love. It was years of wanting and wishing, turned into reality and passion and made into something brand new. I loved getting to know these characters. Their heart, their passion, their past. The struggles they went through, how they rose above the ashes to build something they wanted. These characters have depth and multi layers. I loved seeing all the layers peeled back one by one as their story unfolded. The heartache they endured, the trials they had to overcome, but it made them strong and made them persevere and shape into the people they became. And what’s better? Lulu is a Chocolatier! What’s goes best with romance?? Chocolate!! Some of her concoctions sounds super delicious, makes me wish I could reach into my kindle and grab some! Lol. Want a taste? Dive in, you won’t regret it. I’m sure you’ll fall in love with Leo and Lulu just as much as I did!

Leo and Lulu captured my heart!

I absolutely loved this book and the entire cast of characters that surround Leo and Lulu and their love of chocolate that continually made my mouth water and I’m not only talking about the chocolate. Leo is all kinds of sexy with his playful personality and the gorgeous suits he wears but it was his hidden longing for Lulu that totally captured my heart. And how could I resist Lulu’s zany personality and her colorful curves not to mention her courage to heal from her past; a past that includes Leo and his best friend Tripp. Even Tripp managed to break my heart and that’s the beauty of a Blakely romance. All my senses come alive, I get lost in her characters and though hearts might get bruised there’s always a happy ending to bring me back for more. I read an early copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

A Chocolaty delicious read!

Leo and Lulu have a complicated past, Lulu having married Leo’s best friend who is no longer in the picture. They reunite while working together and now is the chance for a new relationship. Lulu is dynamic, colorful and independent. Leo is a helluva nice guy. This is a delicious rom-com, with lots of yummy chocolate. Blakely’s style is quick witted repartee between her likeable and well developed characters. A thoroughly enjoyable read!

A special Birthday treat!

Lauren is just one of those authors for me that I know will never disappoint. Birthday Suit was an entertaining and heartfelt story. Leo and Lulu were wonderful characters. Leo thought he got rid of that unrequited love he had for Lulu. But when she reenters his life, he discovers new (and old) feelings arise. I really enjoyed this kinda second-chance romance. It was fascinating watching Leo and Lulu go through their journey. They had so much in common and I really loved their banter. I liked the glimpses of the past. It added to their story by giving a deeper level of understanding and brought their story full circle. This was a book I couldn’t put down and I was excited to see what will happen as it progressed. A story full of sweet, loving, sexy, fun, and heartfelt moments. I truly enjoyed it! I’m excited for what Lauren has coming next.

The Riddle of My Heart ♥️

I absolutely LOVED Leo and Lulu’s story! I was hooked right from the start and I didn't want to put it down. This second chance-ish friends to lovers slow burn rom com was everything I love about Lauren Blakely's books and more. It was sweet and sexy, but also poignant and heartfelt. I loved the overall message of grabbing life by the horns and not waiting on your dreams. Nothing in life is guaranteed and this theme was so beautifully woven into the story. You will be hardpressed to find a hero and heroine more wonderful than Leo and Lulu. They are smart, loyal, strong, honest, and so beautifully human. I loved them individually and together and couldn't wait to unravel all the history between them. The book is told in dual POV, but also past and present as it cycles through moments in their 10 year friendship. Leo's longing was practically tangible and my heart broke for him as he buried his own feelings and happiness for that of his best friend. When a second chance presents itself, Lulu and Leo's mutual pain and concerns haunt them like a ghost, as they try to navigate their new relationship and growing feelings. I loved how each reconciled their emotions and sense of obligation to the past. The issues they face felt heartbreakingly realistic and honest. Throw in the sweetest moments with riddles, postcards, and kisses, and I was 100% sold. *swoon* I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite Lauren Blakely title and I'm positive that fans will be swooning for Leo and Lulu just as much as I am! Don't miss this one! I'm also really excited for the audiobook release of Birthday Suit and will update my review after listening.

Birthday Suit was one of those books that pulls you in and keeps you there. This book is everything I love......ROMANCE and CHOCOLATE all rolled together into an unforgettable friends to lovers romance. Leo is all that is good in a man. He is successful, loyal, determined, sexy, passionate and loving. Lulu is the female version of Leo. These two along with Lulu’s ex-husband, Tripp, have been the best of friends for years. Tragic circumstances caused them to drift apart, but their love of chocolate literally had them falling back into friendship and so much more. Birthday Suit is a must read!! I’m so in love with this book!

Infused with charming riddles throughout, Blakely takes this rom-com to the next level with characters that truly click. Leo Hennessy is all sorts of delicious perfection. Successful, handsome and driven to succeed, he has always harbored feelings for his best friend Lulu Diamond but sat on the sideline for years as his best friend married her. I loved how loyal he was to those he loved. He'd do anything for his friends, including sacrificing his own happiness. Having not seen Lulu in a while, she shows up in dramatic fashion and the two begin their slow-burn romance that builds with just the right intensity and speed. Lulu was such a fun and adorable character. Independent, strong, sweet and funny, her love for riddles was charming and I loved how that connected her to Leo. Together, these two friends have a bond that is unbreakable. As they fell for one another, I swooned something fierce! Blakely always knows the way to my heart and she hit a bullseye once again. Birthday Suit will draw you in, make your heart do a little flip and give you the perfect happily ever after ending complete with serious swoon down to the very last words of the epilogue. If anyone deserved the quintessential ending, it was Leo and Lulu. Blakely nailed this one in spades. 5 stars

Yummy friends to lovers

Forget regret or life is yours to miss"-RENT This book was my first read of 2019 and I know this is one that I will come back to over and over again. As soon as I started the prologue I knew I was in for something special (a theme emerged that lines up with a theme from my all time favorite musical) and WOW, did this book deliver. Birthday Suit is the perfect blend of sweet, spicy, fun and the romance? Well that's on a whole other level. Friends to lovers is one of my all time favorite tropes. I love it because the characters already know each other and watching them discover each other in a new light just fascinates me every time. This is definitely a friends to lovers book but with a twist and I enjoyed the hell out of navigating that twist. Lulu is the kind of woman I would just instantly hug upon meeting. She's warm and sweet and I just understood her right away. Her personality is just magnetic and she lit up the pages. I could feel her smile and genuineness. I applauded her strength and loved, loved, loved her sense of self. Leo? I'm claiming Leo. Talk about a fantastic book boyfriend! Smart, kind, sweet, funny and sexy as hell. I said I liked Lulu, right? I'd fight her for Leo. He tries to live his life without regret but is still haunted by things in the past that he can't change. He has a different journey to work through in this book and I loved how the Author handled it. The way these two cross paths is unique and fun as hell to read. I loved seeing them reconnect and wow, could these two ever flirt. They had me on the edge of my seat as I waited for that first kiss (not going to lie, I LOVE the first kiss between characters) and this one was epic and perfect. These two together had me grinning. I loved watching them develop outside the bedroom, though there time there was pretty scorching, too! I adored the secondary characters and can't wait to see more of them. I felt like I was part of this group. That being said, nobody overpowered or overshadowed Lulu and Leo. They enhanced them. The plot of this book was so unique and fresh. It had a palpable energy to it and I was just sucked in from the start. The writing here was superb. I'm not kidding when I say I felt like I was there in New York with these characters. I was fortunate enough to get to read and listen to this book early. If you think you aren't an audio fan I urge you to try this book! If you're an audio fan already? OMG strap in and get ready for the best audio book I've ever heard. The performances here were completely flawless and hearing all of these voices just breathed even more life into these already amazing characters. As a listener I even found some new voices I need to go binge listen to now. This performance was theatre to me and it just elevated the book even more. This book is about more than love. It's a story of hope, some heartache and the bonds of friendship. It's learning to live in the present happily without what-if's hanging over you. It's sweet, spicy, fun and authentic. This book is more than a 5 star book in my opinion, it's on my list of all time favorites. I absolutely highly recommend this book in print and in audio.
